Recently, Minecraft hosted a live event, during which a new mob was voted for and a few details on the upcoming content were shared. Here’s what we know.

The Wild update will premiere in 2022. And its attention will be focused on creating more engaging, rich in detail, and adventure-filled biomes.

One of them will be the re-imagined Birch Forest. Previously, it was known as one of the most generic and dull locations in the game.

The face-lifted version will feature bigger and taller trees, more space for the mobs and wild flora, and so on. Plus, the exploring potential of the Forest will dramatically grow: there will be chest boats, new resources to collect, and also frogs.

Another biome is dubbed Deep Dark. It’s not a scary wood, though — there you will find remnants of an ancient civilization that was wiped from the face of the blocky world.

You’ll be challenged to explore the abandoned cities, pillow loot stashes, and possibly investigate who these guys were and what kind of cataclysm put them to ruin. Judging by the Dark part of its name, the biome will be a dangerous place.

Besides, during Minecraft Live 2021, fans collectively selected a new mob to appear in the Wild — winged Allay.

It’s a friendly mob that has a unique talent: if you give him an item, Allay will search either for it or for a similar thing in the area nearby. After Allay finds it, he will come back with a rich (or not-so-rich) catch.

The other two discarded mob candidates were the robot-like Copper Golem and a host creature named Glare, which was supposed to be a signaling mob whenever you approach a hazardous area.

Even though it’s not premiering very soon, The Wild is highly anticipated. There’ll be new stuff to explore, new adventures to join, and new mobs to meet. Which of the three mob candidates did you like the most? Let us know in the comments!
