Windows for Opportunity

As it was claimed last May during the Microsoft Build conference, Windows Os will get one of the top important updates of all it’s ever gotten over the last decade.

It was also said, that Windows 10 support will expire in 2025. And, as you know, to discontinue an operating system, you need a backup one. Odds are, Windows 11, temporarily, known as Sun Valley, is the “chosen one”.

Here are some rumors, surrounding the upcoming OS:

  • No piracy. Windows 11 is believed to take radical steps against content pirates. One of them is that the system will classify BitTorrent apps as “viruses” and “threats”, blocking them from getting installed.
  • Design. It seems, interface will be reimagined. Baidu recently leaked the new Taskbar, Action Center and icons design. It appears, the OS will cosplay MacOS to an extent.
  • More freedom. Another speculation assumes that Windows 11 will allow uninstalling in-built Microsoft apps if you find them unnecessary.

As for the name of Microsoft’s new brainchild, there’s an interesting situation, actually. Back in the days of Windows 10 premier, it was stated that it’d the last OS of the Windows lineage.

That means, that the upcoming OS will start a new family of desktop and probably phone systems. While Sun Valley is believed to be  a rough draft alias — it was detected in the metadata of the Windows application management page.

It sounds awfully similar to how Apple name their systems. And maybe we’ll see a whole constellation of MS systems named after the cities and landmarks of the Washington state: Seattle OS, Tacoma OS, Yakima OS, and so on.

Open or Shut the Windows?

More info will be unveiled soon, on June 24 by Microsoft. State tuned and don’t forget to comment on the system’s rumored features and name.
