Twitter is trying to make efforts to attract business and new active users. If Elon Musk becomes the owner and implements a privacy strategy, the new updates may become useless. The app is currently testing pop-up prompts that offer an alternative to screenshots of tweets.

This step is necessary for Twitter, as back in 2015, the company had plans to increase monetization to 500 million users. These people saw tweets every month but were not registered in the app, which negatively affected the statistics. After 7 years, the number of Twitter users is two times less than planned.

Although, despite small numbers, especially when compared to Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook, Twitter is one of the key sources of popular web trends. The 'Know Your Meme' program tracks the origin of memes, and it is Twitter that generates most of them.

The company is testing a new tool to prove its significance, increase the reach of tweets and provide more opportunities for unregistered users. Pop-up prompts appear when the user wants to take a screenshot of a specific tweet. Twitter offers to share a link to a tweet or share it in the app.

Twitter is popular among journalists and politicians. However, the use of this social network is quite low, despite the company's attempts to prove that its influence is greater than the numbers show. Since some of the data is untraceable, experts believe it is true.

New prompts can be a successful solution for the company. They are a simple tool that will attract active users by preventing tweets from being shared outside the app. This is also a great opportunity to improve statistics and confirm the importance of Twitter.
In your opinion, how effective can new pop-up prompts be for developing the app’s popularity?
