Marvel's Avengers has come to the end of its development. After two years of release by Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics, the game will see its last update at the end of March. The developers have announced that they will discontinue support for the game after September 30 but still allow players to play in single-player and multiplayer modes. Those who still own physical copies of Marvel's Avengers will be able to purchase used copies for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One after Sept. 30 until the game is no longer available online.

The latest balance update added a new mission called "The Omega-Level Cloning Lab Threat," as well as a Winter Soldier as part of Marvel's Avengers team-up, which already includes Black Panther, the Mighty Thor, and Kate Bishop. Unfortunately, Spider-Man will remain exclusive to the PlayStation platform only. It's worth noting that all cosmetic items, including equipment, gimmicks, and nameplates, will be available without any payment or purchase of credits, and the remaining credits will be converted into in-game resources, according to a schedule provided by Crystal Dynamics.

When it came to the technical problems Marvel's Avenger has encountered in the two years since its release, some critics said the game didn't live up to expectations. And company president Yosuke Matsuda admitted that the game "produced a disappointing result." As a result, last May, Square Enix sold Crystal Dynamics studio, which then signed a contract with Amazon to develop a new addition to the Tomb Raider franchise. Meanwhile, itself has been working on fixes for Marvel's Avengers until support runs out at the end of September, leaving players hoping that the developers can fix any problems that arose between March 31 and that time.

Conclusion

By all accounts, it's clear that despite the problems encountered during development, Marvel's Avenger made a great impression, eliciting both positive fan reactions and disappointment from developers who expressed their disappointment over the unsatisfactory reviews. Reviews were given in general, but they tried to do their best all the way to the end before finally letting this project go to implement another one instead, resulting in their contract with Amazon. Amazon will later close this chapter as soon as the final updates are launched over the next few months, bringing us closer to the final period of the entire story surrounding the production of such an epic game that we have seen over the last few years.
