Destiny 2: Beyond Light No More Available under Xbox Game Pass
2023-01-12
It was rude of Microsoft to make Destiny 2: Beyond Light available on Xbox Game Pass for just two months and then remove it from the pack in December 2021. This year is considered the best for the interplanetary adventure, mainly because of this expansion pack. If you have tasted it, now it’s time for a hard choice between dropping the game and dropping a coin.
If you remember, it was only in October 2021 that Beyond Light came to Xbox Game Pass, along with the core game and other expansions. This expansion was received well among the gamers, and some of its elements (like Stasis) are now crucial for certain classes, like Guardian. Along with the Beyond Light campaign, it came with Deep Stone Crypt Raid, Empire Hunt missions, and stuff. And, of course, Stasis. And all this stuff will become unavailable unless the player buys the expansion for its full price. Otherwise, all the relevant progress will be lost.
A hard knock for all Destiny 2 fans who hoped that the new content will last on Game Pass. It’s even harder to consider, given that on December 7 (the day before Beyond Light goes off the subscription) outcomes the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack with new weapons, armor, a new dungeon, and more. It makes one want to stay with Destiny 2 even stronger to witness this and to, say, fully enjoy all the Europa features like Simulations of Fragments and Aspects. Let alone the next upcoming expansion named The Witch Queen. Which, by the way, is not scheduled to appear on Xbox Game Pass either.
It would be softer if Microsoft made it some other day, with no necessity to buy so much content in so little time if one wants to keep playing. We acknowledge that Game Pass cannot embrace every good game around, so something’s got to go. And still, what do you think about this untimely removal? Drop a word in the comments if you wish!
