The arrival of a next-gen update to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has had an unexpected side effect for fans of Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt, the Polish developer behind both games, has made the decision to disable the function of sending and storing autosaves from Cyberpunk 2077 in the cloud.

The update to The Witcher 3 debuted on December 14, and CD Projekt is concerned that the massive download volume of the update could lead to server overload and delays in the autosave storage function of CP2077. Unfortunately, the developer has not yet provided information on when this capability will be restored.

The decision to temporarily disable the autosave feature of Cyberpunk 2077 is likely a result of the huge popularity of the game. With millions of players worldwide, the download volume of the update for The Witcher 3 could easily cause server overload, leading to complications and delays in the autosave storage function of CP2077. This would be an inconvenience to players, as they would have to manually save their progress, which could be tedious and time-consuming.

CD Projekt has not yet provided a timeline for when the autosave feature will be restored. This has caused some concern among players, as they are unsure how long they will have to wait before they can access the feature again. However, the developers are likely aware of the frustration this has caused and are likely working hard to restore the feature as soon as possible.

In the meantime, players of Cyberpunk 2077 can take steps to ensure that their progress is not lost in the event of a server overload. One way to do this is to manually save the game frequently, as this will ensure that the player can pick up from where they left off if the autosave feature is disabled.

Additionally, players can also use cloud storage services such as Google Drive or Dropbox to back up their saves, as this will ensure that their progress is not lost even if the autosave feature is disabled.
