Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Review
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a massively multiplayer action game by Devolver Digital and Mediatonic. The title has been gaining an extremely large fanbase due to its unique battle-royalish gameplay, hilarious characters, and merciless laws of physics. You can combat against up to 60 people on a variety of online arenas, or team up with your friends to oppose other teams in cooperative-based challenges. The game is currently available for such platforms as Windows PC, PS4, and Android.
Platformer Royale
Guys from Mediatonic did the impossible and mixed the battle royale genre with a totally different paradigm, 3D platformer. As a result, it’s the only game in which you can experience passing through linear Mario-inspired 3D levels with a variety of bizarre obstacles together with 59 other players. Oh, they will all try to push you to make sure you won’t pass the next checkpoint. Still, there are many opportunities to beat others and reach the finish line without being disqualified for slowness. Players on YouTube tell about various strategies and tricks, which means that Fall Guys isn’t just another run-and-jump game. It will test your speed of reaction, strategical thinking, and the ability to work in a team if you want.
Easy Rules – Hard to Win
Every round of Fall Guys starts with 60 players slamming through the start to reach the objective faster than others. The tasks are always different, but those players who don’t manage to complete it on time won’t pass to the next round. The interesting aspect is that you don’t have to be the fastest to win. Sometimes it’s wise to stay somewhere in the middle to let all the bustlers fail and save some strength for the final challenge. But what makes the game really fun is the impossibility to predict what your opponents’ will do. They may not notice you at all, but can also try to make the quest unbeatable for everyone. There are no limits for messing around, so loads of fun are guaranteed.
What About Xbox & Switch?
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is that rare example of a party game that’s available only on a part of popular gaming platforms. Today, you can play it on PC, PS4, and Android, but the rest of the big-6 are left outside. In August 2020 the developers said that they would love to bring the game to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and iOS.
Great – 4.5/5
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is one of the best party games ever. It’s very fun to play independently of the gamer type you are; you can call as many of your friends as you want to join the battle; it’s totally unpredictable; and, finally, it’s all new and incredibly creative. We can’t give it 5 stars only because it’s unavailable for many popular platforms.
