DRAGON QUEST® XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age™ - Digital Edition of Light Review

DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Digital Edition of Light is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix.

The game is a remake of the original DRAGON QUEST XI that was released in Japan in 2017, and it has been completely rebuilt from the ground up with new graphics, new gameplay, and new features. The game was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Japan on September 4, 2018, and for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in North America and Europe on September 27, 2018.

Graphics

DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Digital Edition of Light features completely new graphics that are significantly improved from the original game. The game's world is now rendered in full 3D, and the characters and environments are much more detailed and realistically designed. The game also features new cutscenes that are beautifully animated and voice-acted.

Overall, the game's graphics are absolutely stunning and are some of the best I've ever seen in a video game.

Gameplay

DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Digital Edition of Light features the same basic gameplay as the original game.

The player controls the main character, who is a young man who discovers that he is the reincarnation of a legendary hero, and sets out on a journey to save the world from great evil. The player will travel to different locations, fight monsters, and solve puzzles.

The game is a traditional turn-based RPG, and it features a unique gameplay mechanic called the "Timewalk" system, which allows the player to revisit key moments in the game's story.

Multiplayer

DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Digital Edition of Light features a multiplayer mode called "MONSTER HUNTER", which allows up to four players to cooperate in order to hunt down and kill monsters. The mode is essentially a co-op version of the game's single-player mode, and it's very enjoyable to play with friends.

Replayability

DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Digital Edition of Light is a very long game, and it will take most players over 50 hours to complete the story. Additionally, there are many side quests and optional activities that the player can undertake, and there is a New Game+ mode that allows the player to start the game from the beginning with all of their progress from the first playthrough. As such, the game has a very high replay value.

Conclusion

DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Digital Edition of Light is an excellent RPG that features beautiful graphics, great gameplay, and a high replay value. The game is a must-play for fans of the genre, and it's one of the best RPGs I've ever played.
